Privacy Policy

We handle your financial data with the seriousness it deserves. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. If you upload a bank statement to munē, it is used to analyze your financial pattern and then deleted. We do not sell your data. We do not share your individual data with anyone. Full stop.

Who we are

Mune Technologies Inc. is a Delaware C-Corp operating under the brand munē. Our primary product is the munē financial wellness application, accessible at app.getmune.com. Our company site is getmune.com.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to deliver the product and nothing more.

  • Account information: Your email address, first name, and the archetype and Floor number you set during onboarding.
  • Financial data you provide: Bank statements you upload for Munē Moment analysis. These are processed by our AI system to extract pattern data and are deleted immediately after analysis is complete.
  • Behavioral data: Your Blueprint allocation, Daily Edge responses, check-in history, Vision destinations, and Receipt entries. This is the behavioral data that powers your personalized experience.
  • Usage data: Standard app usage information — screens visited, features used, session duration. Used to improve the product, never sold.
  • Device information: Browser type, device type, and approximate location (city-level only). GPS is never collected or stored.

Bank statements and financial documents

When you upload a bank statement or financial document to munē, it is transmitted securely to our AI processing system, analyzed to extract your spending pattern, income, and merchant data, and then permanently deleted. We do not store the original document. We do not retain the raw transaction data beyond what is necessary to generate your pattern analysis. The extracted pattern data — not the raw statement — is what powers your experience.

This deletion is permanent and automatic. You can verify the deletion timestamp in your Receipt. We built this process deliberately because we believe your financial documents are among the most sensitive data you have, and they should never live on a server longer than absolutely necessary.

How we use your data

  • To personalize your munē experience — your archetype, Blueprint, Daily Edge, and Advisor responses.
  • To calculate your Munē Score across six financial health categories.
  • To generate your Receipt and track your behavioral progress over time.
  • To send you transactional emails — onboarding, billing, and product updates. Never marketing emails without your explicit consent.
  • To improve the product — anonymized, aggregate behavioral patterns help us build better features.

What we will never do

We will never sell your personal data. We will never share your individual financial data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for marketing purposes. We will never use your AI conversations for model training. We will never make your data visible to your employer if you access munē through an employer benefit — employers see only aggregate, anonymized reports.

Third-party services we use

We work with a small number of trusted third-party services to deliver munē:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Anthropic: AI processing for Ask munē and Munē Moment analysis. AI conversations are not used for model training.
  • Stripe: Payment processing. We never store your payment card information directly.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery.
  • Plaid (future): Bank account connection for automatic transaction sync. Deferred to a future product phase.

Your rights

  • Access: You can request a copy of all data we hold about you at any time.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Deletion is processed within 30 days. This includes your Receipt — which is permanent within the product but will be deleted upon account deletion request.
  • Correction: You can correct your account information at any time through your Profile settings.
  • Export: You can export your behavioral data and Receipt entries at any time.
  • Cancel: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Three taps. No questions asked. Your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period.

Data security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. We use Row Level Security on all database tables — meaning your data is only accessible to you and cannot be accessed by other users. We do not store plain text passwords. Authentication uses magic links and one-time passwords.

We are not yet SOC 2 certified. We plan to begin SOC 2 Type 1 readiness in Year 2 through Vanta. We are honest about where we are in the compliance journey.

Children's privacy

The munē consumer application is designed for users 18 and older. munē Jr., our financial literacy program for children ages 5–17, is operated under strict COPPA compliance. Children's accounts are controlled by a parent or guardian. We collect only the minimum information necessary for educational features and never use children's data for any commercial purpose.

Changes to this policy

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before making any material changes to this Privacy Policy. We will never retroactively apply a weaker privacy policy to data already collected. If you do not agree with a change, you have 30 days to export your data and delete your account before the change takes effect.
